we are here for you
Tauranga Drop-in Clinic on Wednesday from 5pm to 6:30pm.
History
Baywide was established to provide FREE access to legal information, advice, assistance and education for residents throughout the Bay of Plenty, who due to their personal or financial circumstances including disability, cannot otherwise access such services.
For over a decade, Baywide has been helping the community of the western and eastern Bay of Plenty with free legal help. From humble beginnings in temporary spaces at the Tauranga and Whakatane Citizens Advice Bureaus, Baywide now has offices in both towns and offers several outreach clinic facilities.
In 2015, we celebrated our 10th anniversary of community law in the Bay of Plenty. Each year, we help approximately 4000 people with their ‘unmet legal needs.’ This equates to a significant amount of hours of legal assistance, advice and representation, funded largely by the Ministry of Justice. The shortfall in our funding is raised through trusts and foundations and sponsorship.
Guest speaker Associate Minister of Justice Simon Bridges said Baywide Community Law played a vital role in helping to maintain ‘a just society’ by ensuring the most vulnerable in our community had access to justice.

Can you donate to help the Bay’s most vulnerable people get legal help?
The service is FREE but as we are a registered charity we welcome donations and receipts are provided. Donations enable us to:
• Keep our doors open and provide a service to the needy
• Be available to talk to interest groups
• Refresh our professional knowledge
• Participate in local community law reform needs
• Be fully involved in Continuing Legal Education
We’re a charity. We depend on the generosity of people in our community to keep helping those in our community who’re facing life changing legal issues. Can you donate via internet banking, credit card or regular giving to help us help them?
We are a Registered Charity and our Charities Number is: CC31172.
